Change of Blog Address

This may be obnoxious for my dear readers (all 3 of them), but, I am hoping, not as obnoxious as continuing to read (and trying to comment on) my blog in a different blogging environment than most of the other cool bloggers I know.

So . . . I hereby transfer the swirlingeddy blog to the Google blogger system, and it is at:

http://swirlingeddy.blogspot.com

Please update any bookmarks or links to my blog accordingly. And I do not leave you empty-handed: there is a post waiting for you at the new location.

Peace out.

A Little More For Little Me

cs-TheHives8-Atlanta112304

About twice a decade, to stay young, you've got to join the seething sweaty masses on the dance floor of a club for a really good show. Tonight was The Hives at First Avenue (with The Donnas opening). Howlin' Pelle Almquist mick-jaggered/iggy-popped all over the stage (and sometimes beyond) as he upped the rock-star arrogance ante after each song, demanding ever-increasing levels of adulation and ejaculating bizarre non-sequiturs (Due to the current economy, $1000 is worth absolutely nothing in European money; your money is no good to us. There is a monster that will kill all of you if the club becomes silent). The Swedish band played at least 16 ridiculously fast and infectious songs with enough attitude, energy, and volume (and matching outfits) to assure me until next time that rock is alive and kicking. Live rock is life-giving. Happy to be alive right now; don't want to go to bed, but it's after midnight . . .

Set list (not in order - concert setting not conducive to note-taking):

A Stroll Through Hive Manor Corridors (playing after the curtain went up, before they came out on stage)
Try It Again
You Got It All . . . Wrong
Square One Here I Come
A Little More For Little You
Walk Idiot Walk
No Pun Intended
Die, All Right
Main Offender
Hate To Say I Told You So
Two-Timing Touch and Broken Bones
You Dress Up For Armegeddon
Won't Be Long
Tick Tick Boom
Bigger Hole To Fill
Diabolic Scheme
Return The Favor
